Edwards was born in Philadelphia in 1868, and studied art at Adelphi College in Brooklyn and the Art Students League of New York. Known for his western landscape and wildlife paintings, Edwards was also a photographer and illustrator for the “Saturday Evening Post” and illustrated a number of books. The artist was a member of the Salmagundi Club and the Brooklyn Society of Artists, and exhibited his art at the Society of Independent Artists.
