Carola Spaeth was born in 1883 in Philadelphia, and her artistic training was at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art as well as the Graphic Sketch Club in Philadelphia. She was a member of the Philadelphia Art Alliance, and was well known for her portraits, especially those of children.
