Born in Meersburg, Germany in 1815, animal and landscape painter Robert Eberle was a pupil of Johann Jakob Biedermann in Konstanz, Germany and then studied in Munich where he was influenced by the works of Willem van de Velde and Karel Dujardin. Eberle was made an honorary member of The Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.

Eberle exhibited in Paris, Leipzig, London, Munich, Vienna and Konstanz. His works are held in the permanent collection of the Modern Gallery in Munich.
